This hospital was established in the year 2015 with 25 beds. By the year 2034, it had undergone improvements, increasing the approved bed count to 50. Over time, with the growing demand for healthcare services, the hospital expanded from 50 beds to 134 beds. Formerly known as Mechi Zonal Hospital, it operated under the Nepal government and was considered the largest hospital in the Mechi region. After the country adopted federal structure, it was transformed into a regional hospital. The center and provincial government have allocated budgets to make this hospital well-equipped.

Formerly, this hospital served as the largest government health service provider in all four districts of Mechi region, and it is the second-largest government hospital in Koshi Province. It is situated on 12 acres of land in Ward No. 8 of Bhadrapur Municipality. On average, around 900 patients seek outpatient services, and more than 50 emergencies are handled daily. Approximately 70% of service recipients utilize the health insurance program for their treatment.

The hospital operates two oxygen plants, 13 hemodialysis machines, three intensive care units (ICUs), and 25 high-dependency units (HDUs). Services such as CT scans, ultrasound, endoscopy, and others are available here.
